Iocage: set boot on jail
Uiterlijk
Steps to Enable Auto-Start
Enable the iocage Service:
Add iocage_enable="YES" to your /etc/rc.conf file using sysrc:
bash sudo sysrc iocage_enable=YES
This command ensures the iocage framework itself starts and manages jails.
Set the Jail's Boot Property:
During Creation: When you first create the jail, set the boot property:
bash sudo iocage create -r <RELEASE_VERSION> --name myjail boot=on
(Replace <RELEASE_VERSION> with the desired FreeBSD version, e.g., 13.2-RELEASE).
For Existing Jails: If the jail already exists, modify its property:
bash sudo iocage set boot=on myjail
(Replace myjail with your jail's name or UUID).
Verify the Setting:
Check the jail's properties to confirm the change:
bash iocage get -r boot <jailname>
The output should show on or 1 for the boot parameter.
